A. Family Violence Trauma Recovery Services DISCUSSION/ACTION 50 min.
1. First Impressions (Video)
Council will view the video, First Impressions, discussing the emotional implications for children who witness domestic violence, highlighting the affects of trauma.
2. CASARC
A staff member from the Child and Adolescent Sexual Abuse Resource Center, will present information about trauma recovery services for survivors of child and adolescent sexual assault.
3. Child Trauma Research Project at General Hospital
Dr. Chandra Ghosh Ippen, Associate Research Director for the Child Trauma Research Project of UCSF, will present information about trauma recovery services for children exposed to trauma.
4. Trauma Recovery Services at General Hospital
A staff member from the Trauma Recover Center will present information about recovery services for adults.
5. Institute on Aging
A staff member from Institute on Aging will present information about trauma recovery services for elders.
6. Victim Services at the Office of the District Attorney
Maria Bee, Director of Victim Services at the District Attorney’s Office, will present information about services provided to victims of crimes.
B. Children of Incarcerated Parents Program DISCUSSION 10 min.
Explanatory Document – CIP Program Evaluation Report. Simin Shamji of the Public Defender’s Office will present an evaluation report of the Children of Incarcerated Parents program, and discuss how Family Violence Council Members are impacted by the work of the Public Defender’s Office.
C. Report on Family Violence in San Francisco DISCUSSION 5 min.
Steering Committee will provide an update about the status of this report, and request information and data from members.
D. Current Trends in Family Violence / Info Sharing DISCUSSION 5 min.
Meeting participants will have the opportunity to reflect on and share new or emerging trends in the field of family violence. This will also be an opportunity for sharing relevant information with attendees.

This item is to allow members of the public to comment, for a maximum of 2 minutes each, on matters within the Council’s purview, as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Council’s future consideration.
