I.          CALL TO ORDER/AGENDA CHANGES                                                       ACTION
Action: To approve agenda for February 4, 2009.                               

 

II.       APPROVAL OF MINUTES                                                                               ACTION
Materials:
Minutes from the December 3, 2008 meeting of the Justice and Courage Oversight Panel.
Action: To approve minutes from meeting of December 3, 2008.

 

III.    BUSINESS                                                                                  DISCUSSION/ACTION

 

A.  Governance Committee                                 Upton/Black

Beverly Upton and Kathy Black will report on its efforts to identify potential new panel members for 2009.

 

B.  Audit Implementation Committee                 Theisen/Black

Ken Theisen and Kathy Black will give a report on the Audit Implementation Committee.  The next meeting of the committee will be held Friday, February 13, 2009.  The meeting location is 50 Fell Street, San Francisco, CA  94102.
a. Language Line Services Update

 

C.  Batterer Accountability Committee  Cavanaugh

Mary Cavanaugh will report on the work of the Batterer Accountability Committee.

                      

IV.     REPORTS                                                                               DISCUSSION/ ACTION

 

A.     JUSTIS                                                          Staff/Upton

The status of the JUSTIS Project will be updated.

 

B.     Family Violence Council                               Upton

Beverly Upton will update the Panel on the Family Violence Council.  The next meeting of the Council is Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 3:00pm – 4:30 pm.  The meeting will be held at San Francisco Superior Court, 400 McAllister, Room 617.

 

C.     Stalking Task Force                                     Staff

Staff will provide an update on the District Attorney’s Stalking Task Force.
Action: To identify and appoint a representative of the Justice and Courage Oversight Panel to attend the Stalking Task Force meetings.

 

D.     Domestic Violence Cases/Trials                  Upton

Ms. Upton will provide an update to the Oversight Panel about any current domestic violence cases that require attention or support.

American Sign Language interpreters and a Sound Amplification System provided upon request with 48-hour advance notice to 415-252-2570. Translation into languages other than English is also available with 48-hour notice. Limited accessible street parking available.  Accessible MUNI Metro station in the Powell and lines are J, K, L, M and N.  Accessible MUNI Lines are the 30 and 45.   Accessible seating for persons with disabilities (including those using wheelchairs) will be available.  Meeting proceedings available in alternative formats.  In order to assist the City's efforts to accommodate persons with severe allergies, environmental illness, multiple chemical sensitivity or related disabilities, attendees at public meetings are reminded that other attendees may be sensitive to various chemical based products.  Please help the City to accommodate these individuals.  To obtain a disability-related modification or accommodation, including auxiliary aids or services, to participate in the meeting, please contact the Department on the Status of Women at least two business days before the meeting at 415-252-2570 (Voice) or 415-252-2550 (TTD).  The Board of Supervisors has amended the Sunshine Ordinance by adding provision 67A.1.  The provision is effective as of January 21, 2001.
