Recommendation Process

There was a discussion around the process for submitting recommendations to the Oversight Panel.  The ICCC clarified the process of submitting recommendations that are not approved by the Committee.  Voting members were defined. (See Attached) The ICCC suggested that the Oversight Panel clarify its process of recommendations following its approval/non-approval of recommendations.   Committee members suggest a process, but believe the Oversight Panel should make the final determination.  The ICCC will present the revised protocol for submitting recommendations to the Oversight Panel at the next meeting.

  1. Action: Motion to adopt documents with changes.   M/S/U (Brooten Job/Oli Sadler/Unanimous. 

There was a discussion about the ICCC’s role on ensuring implementation on recommendations.   Committee members do not believe that ensuring implementation is within the scope of this Committee, nor do they believe they have the authority to do so.  Committee members believe that this authority role is within the purview of the Oversight Panel.   

Updates
Protocol Committee
Sharon Woo, DA’s Office, presented on behalf of the Protocol Committee.   Ms. Woo stated that the Protocol Committee had recently reviewed the Sheriff’s Department Protocol.  At the last meeting, Resolve to Stop the Violence (RSVP) from the Sheriff’s Department presented.  Ms. Woo stated that the presentation helped her understand details about the program such as certifications. 

Resource
Belle Taylor-McGhee, Department on the Status of Women, presented on behalf of the Resource Committee and discussed a pilot program for creating cross training and sharing resources through City agencies. 

Data Collection
Oli Sadler, DTIS, presented on behalf of the Data Collection Committee.  The Committee is updating the JUSTIS Assessment.  Once all departments submit their information the Committee will begin to review who owns the data, where the data originates from, what and who shares data and create Memorandum’s of Understanding around this information.

Updates
There was a discussion around the Stay-Away Orders meting on March 16, 12:00.   Issue surrounds Stay-Away Orders not given an end date and therefore the Police Department cannot put it into the computer.
