III. OLD BUSINESS
A. Short-Term and Long-Term Action Plan DISCUSSION/ACTION 15 min.
Explanatory documents – Council Purpose and Duties handout, Objectives and Deliverables for 2008 handout. First document is drawn from authorizing legislation. Members will discuss short- and long-term objectives for reaching these goals. This discussion may lead to the creation of committees for long-term/yearly goals, or the creation of small work-groups for short-term/quarterly goals, such as those suggested in 2nd handout.
Action: To approve creation of committees or work-groups of the Family Violence Council, if any.
IV. NEW BUSINESS
A. Language Access: OLS Director Tomas Lee DISCUSSION/ACTION 40 min.
Explanatory Document – Safety Audit Implementation Report. Tomas Lee, Director of the Office of Language Services, will present on the status of language access services, especially as they relate to responding to and preventing the various forms of family violence. Discussion and action based on the information presented may occur.
B. Appointment of New Voting Members DISCUSSION/ACTION 5 min.
Explanatory document – summary of proposed appointments for 3 open Council seats.
Action: To approve 3 proposed appointments.
C. Resource and Reporting Cards DISCUSSION/ACTION 5 min.
Explanatory documents – revised resource card including resources for child abuse, domestic violence, and elder/dependent adult abuse, and revised reporting card with local contacts and codes for mandatory reporting of abuse.
Action: To approve resource card draft and/or reporting card draft for distribution by the Family Violence Council.
D. Violence Prevention Plan DISCUSSION 5 min.
Explanatory document – San Francisco Violence Prevention Planning Initiative Overview and Content Concepts.
E. Current Trends in Family Violence DISCUSSION 5 min.
Meeting participants will have the opportunity to reflect on and share new or emerging trends in the field of family violence.
V. PUBLIC COMMENT DISCUSSION 5 min.
This item is to allow members of the public to comment, for a maximum of 2 minutes each, on matters within the Council’s purview, as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Council’s future consideration.
VI. ADJOURNMENT ACTION 1 min.
