I.          CALL TO ORDER/AGENDA CHANGES                                                      ACTION
Action: To approve agenda for April 1, 2009.                          

 

II.       APPROVAL OF MINUTES                                                                               ACTION
Action: To approve minutes from meeting of January 4, 2009.

 

III.    REPORTS                                                                                  DISCUSSION/ACTION

 

A.  Governance Committee                                 Upton/Black

Beverly Upton and Kathy Black will report on efforts to identify new panel members.
Action: To recommend a new member of the Oversight Panel to the Commission on the Status of Women.

 

B.  Audit Implementation Committee                 Theisen/Black

Ken Theisen and Ms. Black will report on the Audit Implementation Committee.  The next meeting of the committee will be held Friday, April 10, 2009, 50 Fell Street, San Francisco, CA  94102.

C.  Batterer Accountability Committee  Cavanaugh

Dr. Mary Cavanaugh will facilitate a discussion on next steps.

 

D.   JUSTIS                                                         Upton/Staff

An update of the JUSTIS Project will be provided.

 

      E.   Family Violence Council                              Upton/Staff

Ms. Upton and Administrative Analyst Laura Marshall will present the findings of the 2009 Report on Family Violence in San Francisco.
Action: To endorse the 2009 Report on Family Violence in San Francisco.

The next meeting of the Family Violence Council is on Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 3:00pm – 4:30 pm, San Francisco Superior Court, 400 McAllister, Room 617.

 

     F.  Stalking Task Force                                       Upton/Black

Ms. Upton and Ms. Black will report on the District Attorney’s Stalking Task Force.

IV.     OLD BUSINESS                                                                                    DISCUSSION/ ACTION

 

A.     Domestic Violence Cases/Trials                  Upton

Ms. Upton will provide an update on any current domestic violence cases that require attention or support.

 

B.     Upcoming Department Head Meetings      Murase

Dr. Murase will report on the status of scheduling department head meetings.

 

V.        NEW BUSINESS                                                                       DISCUSSION/ACTION

A. Resources                                                      Theisen
The Oversight Panel will discuss the best forum for addressing resources issue.

B
.  Impact of Economic Crisis                            Keehn/ Murase
Commissioner Keehn and Dr. Murase will report on the March 25, 2009 Public Hearing on the Impact of the Economic Crisis on Women and their Families hosted by the San Francisco Commission on the Status of Women.  
    
C.  Fiscal Stimulus Package                               Murase
Dr. Murase will provide an overview of the City’s approach to accessing federal stimulus dollars.

VI.     PUBLIC COMMENT                                                                            DISCUSSION
This item allows members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Panel’s purview as well as to suggest agenda items for future consideration.

The ringing of and use of cell phones, pagers, and similar sound producing electronic devices are prohibited at this meeting.  Please be advised that the Chair may order the removal from the meeting room of any person(s) responsible for the ringing or use of a cell phone, pager or other similar sound-producing electronic devices.
