I. CALL TO ORDER/AGENDA CHANGES 1 min.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES ACTION 3 min.
Action: To approve minutes from June 7, 2006.
III. BUSINESS DISCUSSION/POSSIBLE ACTION
A. San Francisco SafeStart Report "I tried to stop them: Children's expose to domestic violence in San Francisco" 30 min.
Presentation by Dr. John Shields, Education, Training, & Research Associates.
B. Domestic Violence Safety & Accountability Audit Dr. Trish Erwin 10 min.
Audit Coordinator, Dr. Trish Erwin, will provide an update on the Safety & Accountability Audit.
C. Justice and Courage Protocols Progress Report Sally Piña 15 min.
Sally Piña, Protocols Committee Chair, will present on the Committee's draft Domestic Violence Protocols Progress Report.
D. Domestic Violence Training Institute Dr. Emily Murase 5 min.
Dr. Murase will provide a brief update on the status of the Domestic Violence Training Institute, funded by the Blue Shield of California Foundation.
E. Victim Notification System Dr. Emily Murase 10 min.
The Oversight Panel will review data and discuss the status of the victim notification system proposal.
F. Latino Media Roundtable on Domestic Violence Antonio Ramirez/Juana Flores 10 min.
Mr. Ramirez and Ms. Flores will report on the Latino Media Roundtable on Domestic Violence hosted by the Department on the Status of Women and the Justice and Courage Oversight Panel on July 26, 2006.
G. Meeting with Judge Cynthia Ming-Mei Lee Commissioner Dorka Keehn 5 min.
Commissioner Keehn will discuss the upcoming meeting with Domestic Violence Court Judge Lee to be held on August 14, 2006.
H. API-VAWA Grant Status Dr. Emily Murase 5 min.
Dr. Murase will provide a brief update on the status of the API-VAWA Grant currently funded by the Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women.
I. Justice and Courage Strategic Plan Commissioner Dorka Keehn 45 min.
Commissioner Keehn will facilitate a discussion regarding the status of the Justice & Courage 2005-2006 Strategic Plan as prepared at the September 2005 Planning Retreat and approved in December 2005.
IV. REPORTS DISCUSSION/POSSIBLE ACTION
A. Resources Committee Report Captain Marsha Ashe 5 min.
Committee Co-Chair Captain Marsha Ashe will provide a final update on the Resources Committee, which sunset on June 20, 2006.
B. JUSTIS Report Dr. Emily Murase 5 min.
Dr. Murase will provide an update on the status of JUSTIS and the Domestic Violence Reporting and Query Module.
