A.  Report on the Justice & Courage Annual Strategic Planning Retreat      Keehn

Commissioner Keehn will summarize the work of the retreat that was held on July 16, 2008 and the Oversight Panel will review the draft Strategic Plan for 2008/2009.

 

Materials:  Draft of new Justice & Courage Oversight Panel Strategic Plan 2008/2009.

 

B. Governance Committee                                                                     Commissioner Keehn

The Governance Committee will report on its meeting of August 5, 2008 regarding identification of and outreach to potential new panel members for January 2009.

 

C.  Media Committee                                                                                          Marily Mondejar

Representatives of the Media Committee will report on its work. The July 2, 2008 meeting of the Media Committee was cancelled, and a new date has not been set. 

 

D.  Audit Implementation Committee                                                                 Kathy Black

Kathy Black, will give a report on the Audit Implementation Committee.  The next meeting of the committee will be on August 8, 2008, at 10am.  The location is 50 Fell Street, San Francisco, CA  94102.

 

 

 

 

E.  Batterer Accountability Committee                                                              Staff

Staff will report on the work of the Batterer Accountability Committee.  The next meeting of the Committee is Friday, August 29, 2008 at 25 Van Ness Avenue, Suite 130.

• JUS.T.I.S.                                                                                                      Jill Tregor

Staff will discuss the status of the JUS.T.I.S Project.

• Family Violence Council                                                                               Beverly Upton

Beverly Upton will update the Panel on the Family Violence Council.  The next meeting of the Council is Thursday, October 16, 2008 from 3-4:30 pm.  The location is 400 McAllister (at Polk), 5^th Floor Conference Room.

 

Materials:  Draft Minutes from the Family Violence Council meeting for July 17, 2008.

 

C.  Stalking Task Force                                                                                     Jill Tregor

      Jill Tregor will provide information for the Panel about June 27, 2008 meeting of the District Attorney’s reinvigorated Stalking Task Force.  The Stalking Task Force will discuss the recommendations of the Safety and Accountability Audit at its next meeting, which is not yet scheduled.

American Sign Language interpreters and a Sound Amplification System provided upon request with 48-hour advance notice to 415-252-2570. Translation into languages other than English is also available with 48-hour notice. Limited accessible street parking available.  Accessible MUNI Metro station in the Powell and lines are J, K, L, M and N.  Accessible MUNI Lines are the 30 and 45.   Accessible seating for persons with disabilities (including those using wheelchairs) will be available.  Meeting proceedings available in alternative formats.  In order to assist the City's efforts to accommodate persons with severe allergies, environmental illness, multiple chemical sensitivity or related disabilities, attendees at public meetings are reminded that other attendees may be sensitive to various chemical based products.  Please help the City to accommodate these individuals.  To obtain a disability-related modification or accommodation, including auxiliary aids or services, to participate in the meeting, please contact the Department on the Status of Women at least two business days before the meeting at 415-252-2570 (Voice) or 415-252-2550 (TTD).  The Board of Supervisors has amended the Sunshine Ordinance by adding provision 67A.1.  The provision is effective as of January 21, 2001.
