Explanatory document: The Executive Director’s Report discusses the work of the Department based on the Commission’s Strategic Plan, which reflects the principles of the U.N. Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

All matters listed hereunder constitute a Consent Agenda and are considered to be routine by the Commission on the Status of Women. They will be acted upon by a single roll call vote of the Commission. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a member of the Commission so requests, in which event the matter shall be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item. Members of the public may speak on each item listed on the Consent Agenda.

Woman Inc. Community Liaison Manager Mariya Taher will provide an update on DVIRC.

 

  1.    Violence Against Women (VAW) Community Needs Assessment Presentation            40 min.

Senior Research Associate Pamela Anderson, PhD, Research Associate Liz McDade-Montez, PhD, and Research Associate Rebekah Cohen of ETR Associate will present on the recently completed VAW Community Needs Assessment.

Action: To approve the Violence Against Women Community Needs Assessment.

 

  1.     Justice & Courage Oversight Panel on Domestic Violence Policy Reform Final Report                         20 min.

Women’s Policy Director Minouche Kandel will present highlights from the Justice & Courage Final Report.

Explanatory document: 2002 – 2014 Final Evaluation of the Justice and Courage Oversight Panel.

Action: To approve the Justice & Courage Final Report.

Adjourn the meeting in honor of Immigrant Rights Commissioner Vera Haile.
