I. Introductions/ Check- In
II. Check in on the Prioritizing Safety for Sex Workers Policy
The police department has mentioned the Prioritizing Safety for Sex Workers Policy publicly. Due to the policy delay the grant given to St. James Infirmary will not be able to be used for the creation of a training for this policy. St. James Infirmary will put the money towards the bad date line. After the policy is approved, the group would like to brainstorm on how to get funders for future trainings of the policy.
III. Improving Collaboration of Sex Workers within Anti- Trafficking Campaigns
Carol presented the group with an issues summary on sex workers and anti-trafficking campaigns. The group agreed that presenting the issues summary would be the most appropriate way of disseminating the information to the general task force. At the February 22nd general Mayor’s Task Force meeting members of the group will present on the collateral harm to sex workers of historical Anti- Trafficking Campaigns.
The group would also like to hold a brown bag lunch to discuss the issues in further detail with members of the Task Force who choose to attend. Carol and other group members will collaborate over email on what to present at the general Mayor’s Task Force meeting and about what date works best for the brown bag lunch discussion.
IV. Update on Strategic Planning Retreat for Task Force
The Strategic Planning Retreat will be held at the San Francisco Google office on Monday, January 30th. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. The facilitator, Lenore Goldman, is relying on the evaluation from RTI International to help inform the structure of the strategic planning retreat.
