I. Welcome, Introductions/Check-In, Agenda Review            

 

II. September 13, 2017 minutes were approved [Marcus/Kandel]    

 

III. Announcements

• UCSF/CASARC: With construction underway, there is still a commitment to providing child and adolescents with resources, and staff is working with the Homeless Parental Program (HPP) to ensure that appointments can still be accessible
•  Human Rights Day: December 10 is Human Rights Day, and the UN is partnering with organizations in San Francisco to acknowledge the role of technology in the conversation on human rights

 

IV. Voting on 2018 Chairs of MTF, Youth Committee

Alia Whitney-Johnson and Ifasina Clear were elected unanimously as co-chairs; additionally, Alia proposes maintaining meeting times once every 2 months, without conflicting with the general task force (no formal vote, no objections)

 

V. Exercise in Engaging Youth Leaders: Working to Center Youth in the Task Force

Ifasina Clear and Alia Whitney-Johnson facilitated a three-part session on engaging youth leaders:

1. Discussion: Relating to young people in different ways
2. Roleplay Breakout Session
3. Question and Answers

 

VI. Closing Activity: Head, Heart, Feet

  • Taking the ideas/activities from this to apply to other meetings
