  1. Review Industry Data from 2017 Data Report & Brainstorm Strategies
    1. The industry data from the 2017 report was reviewed. Members discussed ways for the Adult Committee to reach people working in the most common industries that were reported. Training organizations that work with people in these industries to recognize red flags of trafficking was proposed as an idea. It was decided that members of the committee would reach out to their contacts at different organizations and feel out if the organization would be interested in a human trafficking training. Members will ask about what format they would be interested in.
      1. Carole Vigne will contact California Domestic Workers Coalition, Restaurant Opportunities Centers United and Maintenance Cooperation Trust Fund,
      2. Victoria Chan will contact San Francisco Day Labor Program and Young Workers United
      3. Minouche Kandel will contact Labor Council and Hotel Workers Union
    2. There was also a discussion of reaching out to consulates for countries that are listed as country of recruitment or origin for survivors, specifically China and the Philippines.
      1. Saerom Choi will do outreach to consulates
    3. Daycare and adult caregiving facilities were discussed. California Department of Social Services inspects these facilities. The possibility of reaching out to the Department to see what kind of inspections they do and pushing to see if they can screen for trafficking in the inspections was mentioned. Department on the Status of Women staff will follow up on this idea.
      1. Minouche Kandel will contact California Department of Social Services
    4. Members have also seen a slight uptick in trafficking in the cannabis growing industry. Minouche Kandel said she can contact the person who oversees cannabis regulation for the City of San Francisco and discuss strategies for making sure cannabis sold in San Francisco has supply chains free of trafficking.
      1. Minouche Kandel will contact SF Gov official who oversees cannabis regulation

  1. Planning input from adult trafficking survivor/trafficking affected individuals in 2019
    1. Discussion of ways to involve adult survivors in committee. Members offered to reach out to specific organizations that they know have groups with adult trafficking survivors to see their interest in participating. Mujeres Unidas y Activas might know a frame work that the committee can use.
