Per the Racial Equity Ordinance (Ordinance No. 188-19) passed in 2019, each City department develops a Racial Equity Action Plan (RE Action Plan) that details how a City department will address racial disparities within the department as well as in external programs. In July 2020, the San Francisco Office of Racial Equity (ORE) released the Phase I Framework for advancing racial equity in internal programs and policies to guide departmental RE Action Plans.
The Department on the Status of Women's RE Action Plan for Phase I was presented to the Commission on the Status of Women at its meeting on November 13, 2020 and was submitted on December 30, 2020 to the Mayor, Board of Supervisors, and Office of Racial Equity.
