Announcing Disability Community Virtual Town Hall #2, Getting Around SF, and MDC May 2020 Notice of Cancellation

Dear Disability Community Members: 

Pursuant to the Mayor’s Executive Directive regarding convening of public meetings currently in effect through May 31, 2020, the May 15, 2020 meeting of the Mayor’s Disability Council is cancelled.

However, your voice is important to us.  Mayor’s Office on Disability strongly encourages participation from people with disabilities in two upcoming community events.

Event  #1:

Disability Community Virtual Town Hall #2 

Hosted by: DEM Emergency Operations Center Community Branch and Mayor's Office on Disability

Date: Tuesday, May 12, 2020

Time: 3:00-4:00 pm

Description:

We invite all SF residents with disabilities and allies of the disability community to join Department of Emergency Management, the Mayor's Office on Disability and our City colleagues to participate in our follow-up Disability Community Virtual Town Hall, dedicated to sharing COVID-19 response resources launched within the last month.  There will also be opportunity for disability community members to share feedback related to the accessibility of and disability services provision within SF's COVID-19 emergency response.

How to Get Around San Francisco (Safely) During COVID-19

Sponsored by:  Department of Disability and Aging Services and the Community Living Campaign

Event Description:

During the May 14 session, Cathy DeLuca from Community Living Campaign will share the latest information about all transportation options in San Francisco, including Muni, paratransit, SFMTA's new Essential Trip Card program, driving, taxis and Uber/Lyft. And we'll even talk about how to have fun on your local walks. Cathy will be joined by Natasha Opfell from SF Paratransit's Mobility Management Center and Phillip Pierce from SFMTA  can answer your questions about City transportation services.
