Announcing Transportation information session, Disability Community Virtual Town Hall and MDC Notice of Cancellation

Dear Disability Community Members: 

Pursuant to the Mayor’s Executive Directive regarding convening of public meetings currently in effect through May 3, 2020, the April 17, 2020 meeting of the Mayor’s Disability Council is cancelled.

However, your voice is important to us.  Mayor’s Office on Disability strongly encourages participation from people with disabilities in two upcoming virtual events related to:

  1. transportation, and
  2. disability community feedback on San Francisco’s COVID-19 emergency response.

How to Get Around San Francisco (Safely) During COVID-19

As we shelter-in-place, some seniors and people with disabilities have to travel -- to get to work, to get groceries, to access medical care, or to provide help to others. Join us on Monday as we share the latest information on transportation options in San Francisco:

 

The hosts will share the latest information about:

  • Muni service
  • Paratransit van & taxi service
  • Shop-a-Round service
  • Additional public transit options for seniors and people with disabilities
  • BART service
  • Taxis and Uber/Lyft
  • How to drive safely
  • How to have fun on your local walks

We invite all SF residents with disabilities and allies of the disability community to join Department of Emergency Management, the Department of Disability and Aging Services and the Mayor's Office on Disability to participate in our first Disability Community Virtual Town Hall, dedicated to sharing resources and receiving feedback related to the accessibility of and disability services provision within SF's COVID-19 emergency response.
