Arc of San Francisco has Skills classes that create a college-like academic experience for adults with autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy & other developmental disabilities, providing courses offered over three terms in essential life skills, personal growth, healthy living, sports and fitness and the arts.

City College of San Francisco offers special certificates and/or diplomas by enrolling in the noncredit division. Courses include Adult Basic Education (Transitional Studies), Business, Child Development & Family Studies, Citizenship, Consumer Arts & Sciences, Consumer Education, Disabled Students Programs & Services, English as a Second Language (ESL), GED, High School, Older Adults, and Trade & Industry. Noncredit division courses are tuition free. However, students are expected to buy books and supplies. A few courses require the purchase of additional materials or the payment of a materials fee.

Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired offers blindness and low vision skills training. Classes are open to all adults with low vision or blindness. Classes include Changing Vision, Changing Lives, Cooking Classes, Orientation and Mobility, Adaptive Technology Seminars, Braille Literacy, Home Safety, Daily Living Skills, and Case Management.

San Francisco State University has the Eldercollege program which gives people over 50 the opportunity to take any regular university course on a space available, audit basis with instructor approval. Participants have access to library and gym services without having to pay the usual university fees associated with these services. The cost of this program is $55 per semester.

SF Connected is a City and County of San Francisco initiative providing free computer tutoring and support to seniors and adults with disabilities.

University of California, San Francisco offers free health science courses online. After completing the course you will receive a Statement of Completion signed by the instructor.
