Market Street Is Being Redesigned. Come Find out about the Changes

Dear Colleagues and Community Members,

The goal behind the Better Market Street project is to revitalize Market Street between Octavia Boulevard and Stuart Street by replacing aging infrastructure, improving transit efficiency, while enhancing safety and accessibility for all users. The street design was developed based on a lengthy community outreach process and input from multiple stakeholders. The project team is holding informational pop-up events on Tuesdays and Thursdays through the month of February. 

Located inside The Strand Theater (1127 Market St.), swing by and grab a coffee and discuss the proposed sidewalk-level bicycle lanes, loading changes, transit improvements and landscaping with the project team. For each pop-up, the Better Market Street staff will focus on specific themes described below, and can answer any questions you may have.  Schedule of topics are as follows:  

·     Tuesdays from 10am-noon

·     Feb 5th Topic: Landscape, trees and public realm

·     Feb 12th Topic: Transit changes/shelters

·     Feb 19th Topic: Transit changes/shelters

·     Feb 26th Topic: Transit

·     Thursdays from 1:30pm-3:30pm

·     Feb 7th Topic: Loading

·     Feb 14th Topic: Bikeway

·     Feb 21st Topic: Loading

·     Feb 28th Topic: Landscape, trees and public realm
