Joseph Ospital

Joseph Ospital is a Native San Franciscan, and is a Senior Building Inspector and Access Compliance Officer, for the Mayor's Office on Disability, having served in this position since January 2019. His primary responsibility is to review City funded construction projects for compliance with the ADA, along with state and local access regulations.

Mr. Ospital is a California Certified Access Specialist (CASp), ICC Certified Building Inspector, ICC Accessibility Plans Examiner and ICC Plans Examiner.  Mr. Ospital’s primary responsibilities are conducting plan reviews and inspections of city owned, operated, leased, or funded facilities. Projects include alterations and new construction of large affordable housing developments, civic buildings, and various outdoor environments.  Mr. Ospital has been a Building Inspector for 7 years, and previously worked at the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection in their Plan Review Services Division.  Additional previous experience as a Construction Inspector, Property Manager, Maintenance Inspector(REAC), Maintenance Superintendent and Carpenter for the San Francisco Housing Authority totaling 19 years, as well as additional experience as a General Contractor in the Bay Area.
