Stakeholder Discussion

Dear Colleagues and Disability Community Members,

Supervisor Katy Tang, the Mayor’s Office on Disability, and the Department of Environment invite advocates and members of the disability community for a roundtable discussion on the Plastics & Litter Reduction Ordinance.

The current legislation that was approved by the Board of Supervisors in July includes an exemption for people with disabilities or those that have a medical condition who require access to plastic straws. Supervisor Katy Tang will introduce an amendment to the language of the ordinance that will strengthen the existing provision based on additional input from stakeholders. We invite community members to attend one of the following two meetings in person or remotely to provide feedback on the proposed provision language.
