Discussion and possible action to adopt a resolution urging the Board of Supervisors and the Mayor to enact an ordinance authorizing the Chief of Police to select for appointment to the Command Staff any sworn law enforcement officer with supervisory experience over other sworn law enforcement officers (ACTION ITEM)

6. Public Comment on all matters pertaining to Closed Session.

PLEASE NOTE: The Police Commission will be holding a Special Meeting this month at a location other than City Hall.

1. The Commission will hold its Community Meeting in the Central District, at the Gordon J. Lau School, 950 Clay Street, San Francisco, at 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, to hear comments from the public and Central Station Captain James Dudley concerning public protections issues in the Central District.

The Commission will hear public comment on all agenda items before or during discussion of the item. The period of time allowed for public comment may be modified by the Chair in the interest of fairness to all those wishing to address the Commission.


The ringing of and use of cell phones, pagers and similar sound-producing electronic devices are prohibited at this meeting. Please be advised that the Chair may order the removal from the meeting room of any person(s) responsible for the ringing or use of a cell phone, pager, or other similar sound-producing electronic devices.
