            (The public is now welcome to address the Commission regarding items that do not appear on tonight’s agenda but that are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Commission.  Speakers shall address their remarks to the Commission as a whole and not to individual Commissioners or Department or OCC personnel.  Under Police Commission Rules of Order, during public comment, neither Police or OCC personnel, nor Commissioners are required to respond to questions presented by the public but, may provide a brief response.  Individual Commissioners and Police and OCC personnel should refrain, however, from entering into any debates or discussion with speakers during public comment.  Please limit your comments to two (2) minutes.)

4.         Discussion and possible action to authorize the Chief of Police to develop a proposal for modifications of Department General Orders 5.01, “Use of Force,” and Department General Order 10.02, “Equipment,” to include the use of Conducted Energy Devices (CED) (“Taser”), and to develop proposed policies, practices, training and implementation programs  consistent with professional best practices and contemporary technology, relying upon recommendations from the Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services and the Police Executive Research Forum, subject to the final approval of the Police Commission (ACTION ITEM)

            PERSONNEL EXCEPTION:   Discussion and possible action to issue Police Commission subpoena in the matter of Case Nos. D08-013 & C08-014 (ACTION ITEM)

 

b.         Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957(b)(1) and San Francisco Administrative Code Section 67.10(b) and Penal Code Section 832.7:

            PERSONNEL EXCEPTION:   Discussion and possible action to issue Police Commission subpoena in the matter of Case No. C11-001 (ACTION ITEM)

 

c.         Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957(b)(1) and San Francisco Administrative Code Section 67.10(b) and Penal Code Section 832.7:

            PERSONNEL EXCEPTION:   Status and calendaring of pending disciplinary cases (DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION)

            Review and evaluation of applications submitted by candidates for Chief of Police.  This item may be held in closed session under Government Code Section 54957(b) and San Francisco  Administrative Code Section 67.10(b).  (DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION)
