PUBLIC COMMENT
Ray Hartz, SF Open Government, made the following statement: (document submitted) "In December the Sunshine Ordinance Task Force found the SFPD, particular Chief Greg Suhr against whom the complaint was filed, in violation of section 67.25(a) of the Sunshine Ordinance. In my experience interacting with the SFPD Legal Division, I can make one of two assumptions: that division personnel are unfamiliar with the requirements of open government laws, or, that they just don’t feel a need to comply with those laws. I wanted to thank Chief Suhr for sending Sgt. Goss of the Legal Division to the hearing. He exhibited the same attitude toward the SOTF that he has in his interactions with me. Several members of the SOTF indicated their feeling that the Legal Division needed an "attitudinal adjustment" relating to responding to public record requests. It is my intention to file a complaint with OCC against Inspector Miranda for making false statements regarding the existence of certain public records."
