MAY 29, 2013 REGULAR MEETING
The Police Commission of the City and County of San Francisco met in the Ingleside District, Balboa High School Green Room, 1000 Cayuga Avenue, San Francisco, at 6:10 p.m.
PRESENT: Commissioners Mazzucco, Marshall, Chan, Kingsley, Loftus
ABSENT: Commissioners Turman
Commissioner Mazzucco welcomed the audience and asked the Commissioners to introduce themselves.
PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION

Captain Falvey presented the Certificate of Appreciation to Ms. Mozelle Robinson.
Commissioner Mazzucco presented the Certificate of Appreciation to Ms. Vainessa Iosua.

Motion by Commissioner Marshall, second by Commissioner Kingsley. Approved 5-0.

REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Chief Suhr addressed the audience and talked about recent homicide arrests and talked briefly of recent events in and around the Department.

- Review of recent activities
Director Hicks addressed the audience and went on to describe the duties and responsibilities of the OCC.

Inspector Monroe announced that the next meeting will be on June 5th, at City Hall, Room 400, starting at 5:30 p.m.
DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO ADOPT REVISED DEPARTMENT GENERAL ORDER 5.05, “RESPONSE AND PURSUIT DRIVING”

CAPTAIN TIMOTHY FALVEY, COMMANDING OFFICER OF INGLESIDE STATION, TO ADDRESS THE COMMISSION ON POLICE ACTIVITIES IN THE INGLESIDE DISTRICT
Captain Falvey addressed the Commission and the audience on police activities in the Ingleside District and went on to talked about the overview of Ingleside District, crime statistics and the demographics of the Ingleside District.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Steven Curier, co-chair CPAB, commended Captain Falvey for his work with the community and talked about National Night Out at Miraloma Park and invited the Commissioners to attend.
Emil Lawrence commended Captain Falvey on his presentation and announced that the Golden State Warriors vs. the Police Department will be on June 1st at City College.
Kelly Hoggins thanked Captain Falvey and Chief Suhr for their work with the community.
Eileen, Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center, spoke in regards to their work with youth and spoke of a Youth Summit held on May 3rd and went on to talk about recommendations made by the Youth Commission.
Amber Orantes, Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center, spoke in regards to police and public housing and how to protect identities of witnesses.
Tom Silhorst commended Captain Falvey and stated that there should be more officers like Captain Falvey getting promoted in the Department and went on to talk about the City of Rialto case study.
May Wong, President Excelsior District Improvement Association, commended Captain Falvey and asked the Chief to keep Captain Falvey in the Ingleside.
Rachel Barasco spoke in regards about the actions of two police officers in the Ingleside Station. She asked for the names of the two officers who entered her house.
Mary Harris, President 11th District Council, commended the Chief and went on to commend Captain Falvey for being hands-on and his work with the youths of the community.
Commissioner Mazzucco thanked Balboa High School, the PAL Cadets, the officers of Ingleside, Captain Falvey, and the command staff for their work with the community and for hosting this meeting. He went on to thank Mrs. Falvey.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Commissioner Kingsley, second by Commissioner Loftus. Approved 5-0.
Thereafter, the meeting was adjourned, in honor of John Doe, at 8:10 p.m.
