Police Commission Minutes

July 2, 2014

JULY 2, 2014                                                                                       REGULAR MEETING

                The Police Commission of the City and County of San Francisco met in Room 400, City Hall, #1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, at 5:30 p.m.

               

PRESENT:             Commissioners Mazzucco, Turman, Marshall, DeJesus, Loftus, Hwang

 

PUBLIC COMMENT

 

                Martin Halloran, POA, spoke of an article by Jonah Lamb in regards to OIS.

                James Green, paramedic, spoke of lack of equipment for EMTs.

               

REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

a.            Chief’s Report

-              Review of recent activities

 

                Chief Suhr  gave a brief update on crime statistics and of recent homicide at Visitation Valley.

 

                Officer Jason Johnson spoke of recent trip to Ghana.

 

b.            OCC Director’s Report

-              Review of recent activities

               

                Director Hicks spoke of the Pride Parade and no recent activity to report.

 

c.             Commission Reports

-              Commission President’s Report

-              Commissioners’ Reports

 

                Commissioner Mazzucco had no report.

 

                Commissioner Loftus spoke of attending the Pride Parade and thanked the Pride Alliance for including her and Commissioner Turman.

 

                Commissioner Turman also commended and thanked the Department for great work at the Parade.

 

d.            Commission Announcements and scheduling of items identified for consideration at future Commission meetings

 

                Inspector Monroe announced that there will be no meeting on the 9th and 16th of July.  The District Meeting will be in the Mission District, James Lick Middle School, at 1220 Noe, San Francisco, at 6:00 p.m., on July 23rd.

 

                Commissioner Loftus asked that the Pedestrian Safety quarterly stats be agendized for August 13th.

               

PUBLIC COMMENT

 

                Emil Lawrence spoke in regards to OCC complaint.

               

ADJOURNMENT

                               

                Motion by Commissioner DeJesus, second by Commissioner Marshall.  Approved 6-0.

 

                Thereafter, the meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
