NOVEMBER 5, 2014 REGULAR MEETING
The Police Commission of the City and County of San Francisco met in Room 400, City Hall, #1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, at 5:35 p.m.
PRESENT: Commissioners Loftus, Turman, Mazzucco, Marshall, DeJesus, Hwang, Melara
PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATES OF APPRECIATION

Chief Suhr presented the certificate to Mr. Traughber.
CONSENT CALENDAR

Motion by Commissioner Mazzucco, second by Commissioner Melara. Approved 7-0.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Thomas Simpson spoke in regards to project he is working on in regards to youth in juvenile hall. He discussed a conference done with his company to inspire and uplift youth, especially young black men.
REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
a. Chief’s Report
- Review of recent activities
Chief Suhr spoke of event in the early part of October and of baseball and incidents that happened after the Giants won. He spoke of bottles thrown at officers and street fires. The Chief stated that three officers were treated at SF General. The Chief also spoke of three traffic fatalities in the past weeks. The Chief also updated the Commission regarding arrest made in the “blessing” schemes. He spoke of guns seized off the streets.
The Chief thanked Madison Baumgartner for putting the Mounted Unit in the map.

Director Hicks presented the OCC’s 3rd quarter 2014 Comprehensive Statistical Report.

Commissioner Loftus stated that the Pedestrian Safety Report will be on the agenda on December 3rd and the police redistricting issue will be on the agenda on December 10th. Commissioner Loftus also talked about attending the CIT Training in Monterey, CA.
Commissioner Hwang stated that he attended the Asian POA Scholarship dinner.
d. Commission Announcements and scheduling of items identified for consideration at future Commission meetings
Inspector Monroe announced that the next meeting will be on November 12th which will be the Medal of Valor Ceremony at 6 p.m., Scottish Rites Center. There will be no meetings on November 19th and 26th. The next meeting at City Hall will be December 5th.

ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Loftus asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting in honor of four officers killed in the line of duty.
Motion by Commissioner Melara, second by Commissioner Marshall to adjourn the meeting in honor of Deputy Sheriff Danny Oliver, Detective Michael Davis, Jr., Deputy Sheriff Eugene Coschokengko, and Officer & SWAT Operator Shawn Diamond.
Thereafter, the meeting was adjourned at 7:30p.m.
