OCTOBER 1, 2014 REGULAR MEETING

The Police Commission of the City and County of San Francisco met in Room 400, City Hall, #1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, at 6:30 p.m.

PRESENT: Commissioners Mazzucco, Turman, Marshall, Loftus, Melara, Hwang
ABSENT: Commissioner DeJesus

PUBLIC COMMENT

Jakkee Bryson spoke commending Lt. Nannery for his help on a matter that was important to her.
Reuben Goodman, 829 Capp Street, spoke of a recent homicide of a young man, Ronnie Goodman, on Capp Street and asked for help to prevent other children from being murdered in the Mission.

Chief Suhr spoke of two incidents including the officer-involved incident involving a carjacking suspect. The Chief also spoke of an incident on Saturday involving an individual threatening to harm himself where a less-lethal was used to help save the life of same individual. The Chief also talked about the upcoming events this coming weekend including the Castro Street Fair, the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, and the 1010 Event in Chinatown.

Sergeant Crudo presented the 3rd Quarter 2014 FDRB Finding and Recommendations and OIS Investigative Summary reports.

Director Hicks briefly described the NACOLE conference in Kansas City, Missouri. Director Hicks also announced that the OCC now has a Facebook page.

Commissioner Loftus spoke of the recent town hall meeting regarding the OIS incident.

Sergeant Rodriguez announced that next week’s meeting will be at City Hall, starting at 5:30 p.m.

Motion by Commissioner Melara, second by Commissioner Mazzucco. Approved 6-0.

Review of findings and Chief’s decision to return officers to duty following officer-involved shooting (OIS Case No. 14-005)

ADJOURNMENT

Commissioner Loftus asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting in memory of slain Covina Officer Jordan Corder.

Motion by Commissioner Melara, second by Commissioner Mazzucco to adjourn the meeting in memory of Officer Jordan Corder. Approved 6-0.

Thereafter, the meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
