1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
The meeting was called to order at 4:20 p.m.

2. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
The minutes of the meeting of May 4, 2004 were approved as written.
3. HEALTH AND SAFETY FRAMEWORK
Presentation by Dr. Bahtia on a draft document from the Department of Public Health entitled, "Framework for local regulations of commercial biotechnology land uses in San Francisco." It proposes statutory regulatory requirements for biotechnology uses. It also includes a proposal for a Biosafety Management Plan.
4. REPORT OF AD HOC WORKING GROUP
Elaine Warren reporting: group discussed the Eastern Neighborhoods Plan as the logical space to focus on for bioscience and technical uses. Discussion about the fact that PDR (production, distribution and repair) does not include bioscience. Discussed creating a research definition. Agreed that Scott Williams would create a matrix of bioscience definitions.
Group discussed elements that should be included in the zoning: residential, PDR, industry. Also discussed which neighborhoods could be zoned for biotech.
