Outcomes:
Stephanie will reach out to set up a meeting with Hydra Mendoza
Stephanie will come up with bullets of requests and asking what the concrete outcomes of meeting and next steps of the task force. Evaluation of what has happened to date and recommendations
Follow Up with Jane Kim and provide a bullet list of what we think could be in report,
will CC Board members and other participants.
Anjali and Stephanie to create a template to include the following points:
- How will you sustain TfS program and create community support so school community (site council, PTA, school volunteers, parents, principals, etc.) is taking responsibility for IAQ in schools; recommending how to carry forward.
- Status Report, Needs, Plans for Sustainability; IAQ to be a priority in all Williams maintenance, modernization and Prop 1D, Bonds, ADA, Capital Plan,
- Form IAQ committee to deal with issues beyond Jackie’s work
- Increase spending on IAQ with any available funds. Is the prioritization happening with work orders labeled “Tools for Schools”? How can we ensure schools are putting money into IAQ priorities;
- Need adequate maintenance and repair staff (Stationary Engineers - carpenters, plumbers)
- Adequacy of staff to maintain and repair Tools for Schools fixes
- HPD Standards
i. Are they being implemented at all times for repair and maintenance with respect to Williams related to Tools for Schools?
ii. Are they using least toxic products, not using carpets, etc.?
- EPPs
- Support for House Parents to have access to custodial products purchased by SFUSD
- Purchase of little washing machines
· Check with Jackie to see if Peabody work orders were put in; Is she going to do investigation? Can she suggest to David that we hire outside contractor or get some others at the table? EPA, John Bitoff, David Goldin – Should be forwarded to IAQ Committee; Include this in letter to Jane Kim
5. Williams ER Program/Other School Renovation Repair Programs
· Modernization programs – State through bonds provide matching funds to take care of deferred maintenance. Life safety is first priority. What is being done in 50 schools where bonds are being used, is IAQ high on their agenda. Ask Jackie if they are getting sign off from school district (David Goldin?).
· Neil reviewed background of the pilot project in SFUSD.
Indicated that Head of Custodial services agreed that instead of buying washing machines there is a mechanism for cleaning the mops in a sink.
In CDP facilities there are House Parents who help with cleaning.
· Next steps:
Funding for little washers ($120 each)
Who do House Parents answer to?
