·         Make sure dollar store work is language and culturally appropriate. Many owners are Chinese.

·         Educate consumers about the time and cost of green cleaning

·         Create by-in by interviewing a community leader on their use of green products

·         Develop shelf talkers – perhaps tear-off recipes

·         Call 7th generation re: bulk purchase agreement and donated products for an exchange.

·         Can we get baking soda and vinegar for product exchange?

·         Revise dollar store questionnaire and translate into Spanish & Chinese. Questions:

Project: Safer Cleaning Products to Prevent Breathing Problems

Can you please answer a few questions for the San Francisco Asthma Task Force?

We would like to know your opinion on how to educate consumers on least toxic cleaning products.

·        Many people have serious side effects from the cleaning products they use.  Some organizations are working to make chemicals safer. Meanwhile, we are wondering what can be done at the local level to protect consumers from toxic products.

o       Would you be able to put baking soda and vinegar in your cleaning product isle and display a shelf card with a homemade cleaning product recipe using these ingredients?

§         If no, why not? Is there anything the SFATF could do to support this work (call supervisor, corporate headquarters, etc)?

§         If yes, what language(s) would you need the instruction card to be in?

§         If yes, would you be able to track any changes in baking soda/vinegar sales?

§         If yes, would you like us to give your customers a free demonstration of making and using alternative cleaning supplies using baking soda, vinegar, and soap?

o       Are you interested in working with the SFATF on future projects?
