2. Working with Top Clinical Management (ideas and strategies discussed last meeting)
Peg- 12-1:30 concerned about timeframe for October 12- being a “working lunch”-
Should be networking time and a time to discuss site specific issues-
We could get someone to share positive experiences in their own clinic during this time
We should ask “who else should be here from your facility”- in order to get at the right people
Another option is to show the ATF vignettes
Andi Marmor-
Shannon Thyne
Susan Janson- NIH guidelines
All confirmed
HFA/ vs. HFA?
Spacer with HFA?
Pulmocort-turbohaler- what is the difference?
Potency of the pulmocort respules ? What is it equivalent too?
Peg will check with Tom (pharmacist) from UCSF to ensure that he will cover these topics
KP will run shuttle up to Laurel Heights for employees- not really an option for others
We need to give clear directions to people working at the front desk- easy to get lost at UCSF- signs with arrows/ conference center.
Potentially add UCSF shuttle info to reminder, along with the name of the room
Breathe CA is handling the food
Gloria submitted application for CME’s/CEU’s- need’s Peg’s CV and disclaimer
Will forward David Nunez talk to group
Gloria will put together the evaluation based upon speakers/talking points- rates
speaker/content/learning materials
Gloria will print certificates
Anjali will mail RSVP list to Committee

Discussion on outreach/collaboration with SFFD
Niels from Paramedics Assn. has been a strong advocate for asthma- one of his staff has been participating in SFAN- Robert- wants to focus asthma primarily in his work. Anjali will ask about home visits- will that be a part of his job? Spirometry?
Nan is interested in speaking with Niels and Robert about potential areas of work
· increase outreach workers available to teach about asthma

Looking at remaining work for this year
· Secure additional in-kind and monetary support and commitment to sustain committee initiatives

· 1st newsletter released to all SFAEN participants
