Review of ATF Membership List - tabled

I. Planning Cmte

  • Community Outreach and Organizing
    • Discussed the need to start looking at parent stakeholders to ensure sustainability of ATF initiatives.  Need to discuss what activities and the action plan would be.
    • BVHP - new resource ctr update, KPOO interview on April 23rd with Anjali and community advocates.  Will contact Dr. Burke to see if she is available.
  • World Asthma Day Activities
    • Discussed possible honorees; focus on champions for sustainability
    • Karen will look into room reservation
    • We will form a WAD working group of Karen, Margi, and Anjali
  • Any updates from Environmental Committee?
  • Margi may be able to attend the RAMP sustainability training.  Anjali will forward details to her.
  • This week is the 10 year anniversary of the SFGH Pediatric Asthma Clinic.  Congratulations to Nan and the SFGH staff!
  • Karen suggested getting a proclamation for the clinic

II.  Clinical Committee

  • SF Asthma Network meeting April 3rd
    • Gloria and Peg will work out CEUs
    • Requested assistance in spreading the word to increase registration
    • Gloria will send Kaiser registrant info to Peg
    • Discussed speakers
    • Nan showed the group her SFGH Peds Asthma Clinic promo video
    • Karen will put a link to SFGH video on ATF website

III. Schools/Childcare Committee (moved to first agenda item)

  • Update on Reducing overuse of bleach pilot for child care programs -  Karen distributed summary fact sheet on project which is moving forward smoothly.  The project is focused on reducing the use of bleach and is being implemented by two students from UC Berkeley- Cynthia Melgoza and Luz Agana.  They have completed two outreach presentations so far and have more sites to observe for their cleaning practices.  So far have two commitments for participation in the pilot.  Anjali will look into getting free samples of Alpha HP from Waxie.

·         Update on Tools for Schools (TfS) implementation/Williams Walkthroughs

o        Jackie reported a discrepancy with the agreement to have her join the Williams walkthroughs as a way to implement Tools for Schools and thus progress has been slowed

o        Jackie and Karen will follow up to inquire about the status of the letter to principals

o        SFATF will provide an update to Commissioner Kim about progress

o        Jackie informed that she has successfully helped to create a TfS database as SFUSD has made room on their existing server to track

o        Jackie is working with the SFUSD Sustainability Director and has established a valuable partnership there

  • Schools Green Cleaning and purchasing update
    • Anjali reported that SFUSD is piloting the new product and tools in 46 schools and the project is moving forward smoothly
  • Agreed to schedule a schools committee meeting separate from the monthly meeting to discuss some upcoming needs – Anjali
  • Anjali will order more Williams booklets to distribute

  • April 11th, HERC Asthma Walk – Anjali will be manning a table for SFATF and Breathe CA
  • BC Bike for Breath and Breath of Life Walk
