Attendees:  Gloria Thornton , Karen Cohn , Neil Gendel , Kate Lorenzen (on phone), Marie Hoemke (on phone)

  1. ATF Fiscal Matters-
    1. Expenditure of funds from Board of Supervisors

·        In midst of purchasing camera for Mayor’s Office of Housing.  MOH has identified 5 people to take camera training. 

·        Karen will try to clarify with Health Commission to anticipate if “addbacks” are at risk.  Anticipate some will be cut.

·        Karen already submitted budget spread in December: Another camera, more money for trainings and contracts; reproduction, SFGTV

·        $25K in contract with Breathe CA : Network Training and Childcare traing; Healthy Housing Legislation stakeholder training; Training for SFHA property managers post evaluation

·        $6K media deliverable – translate PSA and pay for cable air time; some tweaks may need to be made

·        May be able to put some funds toward Kaiser grant

  1. Update on Grants

·        CPMC – First mailing has gone out, about 15 return mail, 7 responses; Database is set up.  Working on presentation to move research project to UCSF and SFGH.  Nan, Gloria and two interns (from Mills and SFSU) are working together.  Peg said she would do it at Kaiser as well.

·        Kaiser Permanente – Stakeholder interviews are complete and very impressive in number.  Will move to next step of choosing criteria for next sites.

  1. Breathe California Fundraising Plan

·        $65K may be available from SF general fund allocation

·        RAMP is inquiring to CAFA ; Want to ensure no one is punished

·        Proposal from RAMP to Endowment is being submitted and they anticipate a response in March.  Proposal is for 2 years as TCE is doing a planning process from 2010-2020.

·        RAMP CDC Legacy Grant program doesn’t kick in until 2nd year.

·        Jan 23rd, 9am-12noon Grant Writing training through SFDPH

·        Suggested that BC/ATF staff make personal contacts with funders we are considering submitting to – look at workshops at Foundation Center ; talk to other Breathes

·        ALA is having a fundraiser for San Francisco- goes to support ALA work- not a possibility for ATF

·        Can use report card information for grants

  1. Sustainability
    1. Staff met with Kate to review November meeting, at which ATF voted to stay legislated. 
    2. Stephanie presented draft Bylaws – mail as part of mailing and will be put on Jan ATF agenda for action item vote; modifications to include that Quorum means half of voting seats plus one. Remove section on minutes because it is already in legislation.  Authoring legislation already contains purpose.  By signing bylaws people agree to voluntarily resign. “By signing these bylaws and not being able to meet these attendance requirements their status will change to voluntarily design.
    3. Would be good to do a reorientation to review all
    4. Legislation – add been granted recognition from CPMC and Kaiser community benefits to further mission to improve QOL.  All current seatholders and any new appointments to vacancies will be extended to same date.
    5. Supervisor Maxwell is not being termed out until 2010
    6. Ask Supv. Maxwell who else would support extension, would anyone oppose?
    7. See who is on the Rules Committee (Elsbernd, Ammiano, Peskin)

 

  1. CAFA Report Card
    1. Karen modeled from San Diego’s report card.  Working to shorten for the CA Endowment’s purposes.  
    2. What will be included in CAFA report card (4 pages)-

 

  1. ATF Vacancies- Follow up with SFHP rep (lung health), Park and Rec staffer, and SFSU Head Start.  Ask clerk if anyone is pending Rules Comt. hearing.
