- Other spending- 1 day thermographic camera training will be held before June for DBI and MOH. Dennis Jordan from Alameda County Healthy Homes offered a free 2 day training- Karen considering 3 day training, with 3rd day training by Ben Heckman’s group. Will be useful as Karen’s staff will do healthy homes outreach to WIC clients in 3 languages
- Kaiser Permanente Community Benefits Grant- Clinical committee will reapply for further funding for projects
- CPMC Community Benefits Grant- may reapply for project expansion. Karen may also apply for SFUSD EPP project.
- CAFA Funding
- California Endowment will invite ATF to apply for 18-24 months of funding, starting July 1. RFP will come in April or May for 75-125K. Focus will be on one work area, policy focus, no media. Not a continuation of current grant. 10 current CAFA coalitions will be invited to apply. The Endowment is moving into a healthy community focus for 2010-2010.
- Sustainability
- Karen passed out sustainability grid for discussion. Future work areas for CAFA could be focused around toxic use reduction in the areas of homes/schools. Schools/homes will remain ATF areas of focus for CAFA. In terms of schools/Tools for Schools objectives Neil pointed out that SFUSD School Budget talks are going on now, and ATF needs to advocate for permanent, long term funding of Coordinator position.
- Amy asked about clinical work- can it be funded through CAFA. Gloria shared clinical committee discussion around work. Clinical objectives will be taken on by committee partners and the health plans.
- Karen proposes that the ATF apply to CAFA III using toxic use reduction strategy with two areas of focus. Committee voted and agreed.
