October 3 SFAN Meeting:

Action Items:

  1. Peg will talk to Gayle Akins about setting up room and making  sure handouts are done & clear
  2. SF Health Plan is doing health education advertising; Amy or Karen is going to email material out to Nan & Peg.

 

March SFAN Meeting:

Will concentrate on knowledge; Karen Cohn can present as educational specialist; Nan’s video; include CPMC information; talk on kids; include Gail Tang and Helen Lu.

Action Items:  Peg will confirm March date & email that out.  Nan & Gloria are going to email out about draft patient housing issue  template & present it in March, not in October.

 

School Health and Emergency Care Plans

Update on meeting with Commissioner Jane Kim from the SFUSD Board of Education: Superintendent has not submitted report to Commissioner that was due in August.  Will request report by mid-October.  Data entry still being sorted out—training for staff being scheduled.  ATF desires audit of schools to ascertain reality—reward good work.  Meyla Ruwin will consider revision of format of Emergency Care Plan document.

Action Item: Everybody look at website & see how we can update it

 

Unnatural Causes

We talked about showing Unatural causes as topic of next network meeting.

Action Item:  Gloria will check into CMEs.

 

AE-C Exams

If people need retesting a 2nd time to pass, we have paid for them. We do not pay for recertification in 6 years.

 

Announcements

This Thursday is celebration of Ellen Wolf’s life from 4-6 p.m. Northlight Court, City Hall.

 

SF Health Plan is doing health education ads in local papers.  This quarter topics are: preventing the flu; healthy habits; TB prevention.  There is an opportunity to have asthma message, if we provide the content—it can get in next round.

 

SF Health Plan is moving forward on what we are required to do with State Project re: ER visits, URIs, Peds.  Quality Improvement projects include patient education (need to develop health education materials) and hospital piece.

 

Karen Cohn updated on “What’s New—What’s Hot” re: taxi voucher program.  Also updated on PR for Bayview shuttle.
