Debrief April 3, 2009 Asthma Updates
|
.
- April Asthma Updates went well.
- Have not seen the evaluation summary.
- The informal responses were positive
- There is data to be analyzed re pre-test, and job self-assessment form.
- It was difficult for facilitators to hear during the small group case study sessions. As people spoke the room got very noisy. We may want to rethink how to how to manage case studies again.
- Ngoc Ly is an excellent presenter and someone we may want to call on more frequently.
- Gail Tang revised presentation was sent to all attendees as promised. Her presentation was also excellent.
- Motivational Interviewing demonstration was well received. We may want to do more of these in the future dealing with difficult patient communication and compliance issues.
|
Gloria will follow-up with the data.
Peg to get evaluation summary to share.
Gloria will send out Ngoc Ly presentation

Finalize Program for October Asthma Updates
|
- Peg and Jodi have submitted room reservation for 10-2 or 10-9 but have not received a confirmation.
- Gloria would like to get Save the Date out in June to give physicians and other clinical staff a chance to plan into their work schedule.
- Proposed October Program
Rule Out COPD—George Su was proposed speaker
Asthma and Obesity
Working with the Latino Families
QI Case studies using Spirometry
Dosing with inhaled cortical steroids Adults and Children (since there was concern that this topic would not fill an entire session, maybe we can explore patient concerns and how to deal with them starting with medications and long term compliance)
|
Peg to follow-up on room reservation confirmation
Gloria to follow up—but George has child with health issues need update before comfortable following up. Also, Gail Herrick has indicated that Dr. Janet Diaz is interested in being a speaker so she may be a possibility as a back up. She is from the ICU at SFGH.
Gloria will follow up with her once we get a date.
Peg to follow-up with finding someone at Kaiser to address this topic.
Peg to lead
