9.      Enforcement in Safe Use of Bicycle Facilities – Last week, Deputy Chief John Murphy was assigned to the MTA, and the BAC would like to  invite him to speak to the BAC on issues of enforcement, to help understand the rights of bicyclists, motorists, valet parking companies, and on/off-duty buses.  We would also like a legal clarification on the permissibility of bicycling on the Embarcadero sidewalk, and enforcement of wrong-way riding in bike lanes.

10.  MTA Locker Management – Response to issues raised on bike locker management by the MTA, especially 5th and Mission Garage

11.  Prop. K 5 Year Prioritization Program (5YPP) – The CTA has requested that the BAC comment on the November 13 draft document as soon as possible.  The compilation of comments will be reviewed and assimilated as appropriate in the final document.  Members and the public should be prepared to make specific comments in this public forum.

12.  Accommodation of Bicycles Onboard High-Speed Rail – As rail use continues to grow, the importance of accommodating bicycles within the planning stages becomes more critical.  Learning from the difficulties in retrofit on systems like Caltrain, a number of organizations are uniting in support of a resolution for advance planning in accommodation of bicycles in the coming California High Speed Rail system.

13.  Fort Mason Bike Path – As anyone who has traveled East/West across Fort Mason knows, there is a section along McDowell Avenue that is exceedingly steep, too much so for the many tourists and recreational cyclists who travel over the route daily.  A proposal has been made to re-route the pathway along the shore, as being both easier and more scenic.
