General Meeting Minutes, June 20, ’01
Present: Emily Drennen, Doug Hagan, Jean Davis, PiRa, Jim Morrison, Nino Parker, Greg Hayes, Victor Veysey, Renata Yang
Meeting to order: 6:38 p.m.
Items 1-6, administrative or informational, no action taken (Doug H. agreed to look into updating the SFBAC website)
7. Michelle Meeker, neurosurgery nurse, made a presentation on treatments applicable to bike-related head trauma, including deliberate hypothermia, sometimes requiring immediate beginning of treatment without the possibility of permission from patient or family. Questionnaires circulated to BAC members.
Here, skipped to presentation on progress toward MTC Regional Bike plan. Presentation by Rails to Trails, consultants for San Francisco. Final comments due by 7/15/01. Amanda at 397 2220.
8. SF Transportation Authority, county plan update and possibility of including Level of Service Standards for bicycling. No action. Ongoing communication needed with in-house staff.
9. SF Bicycle Plan update. Scheduling for complete Bicycle Plan Update has been set back. No action.
10. Stencil study. Discussion of ways to speed approval of this pavement marking device. No action.
11. Consensus approval of resolution introduced by Greg Hayes urging the BOS to hold hearings and/or public meetings to hear input on the structuring of the DPT/MUNI integration required by Pro. E.
12. Pete T. summarized recent contacts with Ian MacAvoy of JPB (Caltrain bikestation) and Laura Timothy of BART (Embarcadero bikestation). BART funding requires extension from state.
13. 3rd St. bike lanes (Nino Parker) item postponed to July working com’t.mtg.
14. SF Unified School Dist. and bikes (Casey A. absent; item postponed)
15. Relations with peds/seniors/disabled--Postponed
16. Liaison assignment review--Postponed because of length of mtg.
17. Approved by consensus a resolution urging that recent bike-related improvements to the San Jose Cut (San Jose Ave.--Randall St. to app. Arlington St. exit) be made permanent and given the status of legal bike lanes.
18. Upcoming agendas. Review of consensus decision-making vs. Robert’s Rules of Order
