- Bicycle Report Card Task Force – Andy Bindman, Chair
Development and approval of the metrics and reporting of bicycling growth
- Proposed improvements to Muni Boarding Islands on Market Street –In the Market Street Study, SFCTA identified the need for changes to ‘safety zones’, the boarding islands for MUNI streetcars, buses and trolleys. The MTA’s Javad Miradbal will make a presentation on planned changes.

- Actions of the BART Bicycle Task Force – (carried from the March Meeting) The BBTF (http://bart.gov/guide/bikes/bikes_task_force.asp) has long been active in advocating bicyclist’s interests on the transit system. Members are appointed from the participating counties’ BAC organizations. Dave Movelo, otherwise known as BikeDave, will give a short presentation, followed by seat assignment.
Action: Nomination and election for a vacant seat on the BBTF

- Replacing Drivers’ Ed with Transportation Ed – There has lately been much public and legislative discussion over the future of Drivers’ Ed in the state public schools. SFUSD has proposed dropping the course in the City, while Sen. Torlakson has pursued guaranteed funding through SB1114. The coming transportation priorities emphasizing reduced energy use, sustainability, improved health, and livability require that citizens try to eliminate car dependence wherever possible. An important start is educating young people on the safe and low cost alternatives of bicycling, walking, public transportation, and other intermodal options.
