II. COMMITTEE MEMBERS QUESTIONS/COMMENTS DISCUSSION 15 min
Committee Members will make announcements, ask for items to be placed on next month's agenda, and give further direction to Committee staff on follow-up items. Chair Diana Valentine will welcome new Committee Members, Leonard Brown and Greg Kats. Staff person Bernice Casey will provide an update on the goals of the Committee.

Members of the public may address the Committee on items of interest to the public that are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Committee for up to three minutes. IV. NEW BUSINESS ACTION
A. Domestic Violence Awareness Lisa Polacci 20 min
La Casa de las Madres Domestic Violence Shelter's Community Program Director Lisa Polacci will provide an overview of the services La Casa provides and discuss the work La Casa has done in the homeless community and in shelters.
B. Mission Statement Diana Valentine 20 min
The Committee will review the Mission Statement contributions made at the August 25, 2006 retreat and draft a mission statement.

C. Nomination of Secretary Diana Valentine 5 min
Chair Valentine will ask for nominations for the position of Committee Secretary.

Proposed Action: Nominate Committee Member(s) for the position of Committee Secretary with elections to be held at the November 1, 2006 Committee meeting.
D. St. Boniface Diana Valentine 10 min
The Committee will discuss the status of St. Boniface and ask representatives from Human Services Agency to provide a report on when a contract with St. Boniface will be issued.
E. Shelter Grievance Policy Diana Valentine 10 min
The Committee will ask for a report from a Human Services Agency representative on the actions taken at the last Shelter Grievance Advisory Committee on suggested edits or changes to the policy.
F. Homeless Count Ali Schlageter 5 min
Local Homeless Coordinating Board staff Ali Schlageter will provide a report on the homeless count.
G. Follow up to CAAP Letter Diana Valentine 15 min
The Committee will review the correspondence between the Committee and the County Adult Assistance Program regarding shelter, food, and utilities.
