III.   Committee Members’ Reports                            Discussion                15 min.

Committee Members will give a brief report on the status of their work.  In addition, Members will report back on the status of sub-committees, including but not limited to the Goals Sub-Committee and the Forms and Logistics Sub-Committee.

 A.   Establishing New Location/Time for Meetings      Bernice Casey            10 min

The Committee will review venues for upcoming meetings and discuss new times for meetings.

 B.   County Adult Assistance Program (CAAP)            Rosana Soriano          10 min.

Section Manager Rosana Soriano will provide the Committee an overview of the services provided through CAAP.

 

 C.   Communication Protocols                                        Bernice Casey            10 min.

Ms. Casey will discuss tentative communication protocols between Committee members and staff to ensure that Committee members are provided information in a timely manner.

D.    Inspection Reports                                                  Diana Valentine        15 min.

The Committee will hear back from Committee Members who conducted inspections of the following sites: Trinity, Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME), Hospitality House, and First Friendship.

E.     Shelter Closings/Openings                                      Diana Valentine         10 min.

        The Committee will hear an update on current shelter closings and openings.

The Committee will discuss the status of the current 5 openings on the Committee. 

 

V.    Old Business                                                          Action

       A.     Next Door                                                                Diana Valentine         10 min.

The Committee will hear back from the Chair Diana Valentine on the response of the Human Services Agency (HSA) regarding the request for an investigation and release of information about the death that occurred at the Next Door Shelter on December 24, 2005.  The Committee will also hear an update on meeting with Episcopal Community Services (ECS), the agency that runs Next Door.

B.    Multi-Service Center South                                    Diana Valentine         10 min.

The Committee will discuss the broken showers at Multi Service Center South (MSCS) and discuss next steps.

        The Committee will hear back from Committee Members Iranyi, Nakanishi, Pauson, Stewardson, and Chair Valentine on the April 27, 2006 presentation before the Rules Committee.  The Committee will discuss the recommendations presented.

The nearest BART station is Civic Center Plaza at the intersection of Market, Grove, and Hyde Streets.  The MUNI Metro lines are the F, J, K, L, M, and N (Civic Center Station or Van Ness Avenue Station).  MUNI bus lines serving the area are the 47 Van Ness, 9 San Bruno, and the 6, 7, 71 Haight/Noreiga.  Accessible curbside parking is available on Oak and Hickory Streets.

 

The ringing of and use of cell phones, pagers, and similar sound producing electronic devices are prohibited at this meeting.  Please be advised that the Chair may order the removal from the meeting room of any person(s) responsible for the ringing or use of a cell phone, pager or other similar sound-producing electronic devices.

 

In order to assist the City’s efforts to accommodate persons with severe allergies, environmental illness, multiple chemical sensitivity or related disabilities, attendees at public meetings are reminded that other attendees maybe sensitive to various chemical based scented projects.  Please help the City to accommodate these individuals.
