City Hall to Celebrate 3rd Annual Youth Recognition Day
On Tuesday, December 16th, The San Francisco Board of Supervisors and The San Francisco Youth Commission honor eleven local youth for their outstanding contributions to the arts, their schools, and the community.

Today’s media coverage often reflects the negative acts of youth. More often than not, positive leaders in the youth community go unnoticed, washed over with the headlines of school shootings and gang violence. With this reality in mind, the San Francisco Youth Commission decided to do something about it. In March 2001, the Youth Commission passed a resolution urging the Mayor and the Board of Supervisors to recognize the numerous contributions youth make to our city. The Board of Supervisors supported this piece of legislation, and Youth Recognition Day - a day to honor local youth who have made a positive impact on their community - was born.

Please join us on Tuesday, December 16, 2003 to honor and bring attention to Daniel Panko, Britt Benton, Deborah Falch, Melanie Seto, Ricardo Iraheta, Marquez Shaw, Vinia Ramos, Antonio Ayala, Robert Wong, Andy Wong and Jasmine Marshall for their many contributions to our San Francisco community.

Youth Recognition Day will be held at City Hall on Tuesday, December 16. The Awards Ceremony will be at 3:30 pm in the Legislative Chamber, City Hall, Room 250.
