B. Moment to Moment Plans: Prep Day (Thursday, 10/27 4pm), Set Up & Clean Up

Danielle will be creating moment to moment sheets for committee members and volunteers to have on the day of the summit. It is important to study these documents.

C. Focus Group Questions

Committee members shared a lengthy discussion on how to facilitate the focus groups at the end of the summit. Members felt that it would be more significant, effective, and efficient if young people are leading the small group discussions instead of adults. The questions must be open ended so as to direct the flow of the discussion, and should somehow be addressed in survey questions as well. After the discussion, members were able to finalize the following open ended questions: What are some challenges that immigrant young people face on a regular basis? What are some services that have helped you out? How does your school and/or counselor provide services to support any AB540 students?

D. Next Steps

Members are to work on introductions of speakers, as well as recruit volunteers, and prepare for the summit. Staff will send out reminders to members on their roles, their moment to moment plans, what time to meet at the summit, as well as the survey questions for their review.

6. Adjournment

The meeting was adjourned at 4:47pm..
