Members: Angel Carrion, Ramon Gomez, Paul Monge-Rodriguez

1. Call to Order and Roll Call

The meeting was called to order at 5:35pm. Commissioners present: Angel Carrion, Ramon Gomez. Commissioner absent: Paul Monge-Rodriguez. Staff present: Phimy Truong. There was quorum.

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)


Commissioner Carrion, seconded by Commissioner Gomez, moved to approve the agenda. This motion was approved unanimously by acclamation.

3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)

A. September 27, 2012

Commissioner Carrion, seconded by Commissioner Gomez, moved to approve the minutes to September 27, 2012. This motion was approved unanimously by acclamation.

B. September 13, 2012

Commissioner Carrion, seconded by Commissioner Gomez, moved to approve the minutes to September 13, 2012. This motion was approved unanimously by acclamation.

4. Public Comment on Items not on Agenda (Discussion Only)

There were none.

5. Business (All Items to Follow Discussion and Possible Action)

A. Check in

Commissioners and staff shared one positive aspect of their week.

B. Report on recreation yard survey results

Commissioner Monge-Rodriguez was not able to attend the committee meeting. Staff printed out and distributed a draft report that Commissioner Monge-Rodriguez had worked on. Commissioners spent time looking over the draft and writing down feedback. There was no official action taken.

C. Work on committee priorities and S.M.A.R.T. goals (i.e., goals that are
specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound)

Commissioner Carrion reviewed committee priorities and goals with Commissioner Gomez. Commissioner Gomez volunteered to work on the draft report with Commissioner Monge-Rodriguez. Commissioner Carrion volunteered to work on following up with SFPD youth training. Commissioners then discussed  plans to do outreach and visits to community based organizations, to provide an update on what the committee worked on this year. Commissioner Gomez suggested visiting Mo-Magic at the Ella Hill Hutch Community Center. There was no action taken.

This item was tabled.
