This meeting is being held by teleconference pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20 and the Fifth Supplement to the Mayoral Proclamation Declaring the Existence of a Local Emergency. During the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) emergency, meetings of the Arts Commission will convene remotely.

Written Comment:
The public is encouraged to submit comments by emailing to sfac.grants@sfgov.org. This email address will be monitored until Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 11 a.m. All comments received by the deadline will be read aloud by Arts Commission staff up to the three minutes maximum allotted to each commenter. In the subject line of your email, indicate the meeting date and item number. If you do not specify an agenda item number, your emailed public comment will be read under general public comment. Note: if your public comment statement is read aloud by Arts Commission staff during an agenda item, this will count as your one opportunity for public comment on that specific item. You will not be able to raise your hand to make additional public comment on the same item if your statement has already been read aloud.

Public comment in regard to specific agenda items will be taken before or during consideration of the item. During General Public Comment, members of the public may address the Commission on matters within the Commission’s jurisdiction and not otherwise on this agenda.   4. FY21 SOMA Nonprofit Facilities Fund
    Action
    Discussion and possible motion to approve the recommendation to award the SOMA Nonprofit Facilities Fund grant to Community Vision Capital and Consulting and to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into a grant agreement not to exceed $600,000 at this time.

  5. The Sankofa Initiative
    Action

    a. Discussion and possible motion to approve the recommendation to award the Sankofa Initiative Cultural Preservation grant to The Alliance for California Traditional Arts and to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into a grant agreement not to exceed $225,000 at this time.  
     
    b. Discussion and possible motion to approve the recommendation to award the Sankofa Initiative Technology and Supplies access grant to Bayview Hunters Point Center for Arts & Technology and to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into a grant agreement not to exceed $250,000 at this time.

The San Francisco Arts Commission meeting will be held virtually due to the public health emergency.
 
During the pendency of the closure of the Commission’s offices during the COVID-19 Shelter-in-Place Order and related disruptions to on-site business processes, explanatory documents listed above, as well as documents created or distributed after the posting of this agenda to the Arts Commission will be available only electronically, please contact: SFAC Grants, 415/252-2253. NOTE: The Arts Commission often receives documents created or submitted by other City officials, agencies or departments after the posting of the Arts Commission agenda. For such documents or presentations, members of the public may wish to contact the originating agency if they seek documents not yet provided to the Arts Commission.
 
Agenda items will normally be heard in order. Please note that on occasion a special circumstance may require that an agenda item be taken out of order. Members of the public interested in a particular agenda item are advised to arrive at the beginning of the meeting. ACCESSIBLE MEETING POLICY
 
Per the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Language Access Ordinance, Chinese, Spanish, and/or American Sign Language interpreters will be available upon request. Additionally, every effort will be made to provide a sound enhancement system, meeting materials in alternative formats, and/or a reader. Minutes may be translated after they have been adopted by the Commission. For all these requests, please contact SFAC Grants, at least 48 hours before the meeting at 415/252-2253. Late requests will be honored if possible. The hearing room is wheelchair accessible.
