This meeting is being held by teleconference pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20 and the Fifth Supplement to the Mayoral Proclamation Declaring the Existence of a Local Emergency.
During the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) emergency, the Arts Commission’s regular meeting room, Veteran's War Memorial Building, Room 125, is closed. Meetings of the Arts Commission will convene remotely.

Written Comment:
The public is encouraged to submit comments by emailing to sfac.grants@sfgov.org. This email address will be monitored until Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 11 a.m. All comments received by the deadline will be read aloud by Arts Commission staff up to the three minutes maximum allotted to each commenter. In the subject line of your email, indicate the meeting date and item number. Note: if your public comment statement is read aloud by Arts Commission staff during an agenda item, this will count as your one opportunity for public comment on that specific item. You will not be able to raise your hand to make additional public comment on the same item if your statement has already been read aloud.
Oral Comment:
Public comment in regard to specific agenda items will be taken before or during consideration of the item. Each speaker may speak for up to three minutes per agenda item, unless the Chair has announced a different length of time at the beginning of the meeting. Speakers may not transfer their time to another person. Discussion and possible motion to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into sole source lease and operating agreements with the African American Art and Culture Complex, the Bayview Opera House Inc., Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts and SOMArts for fiscal years 2021-2022 to ensure the City-owned cultural centers remain open, accessible and vital contributors to the cultural life of the City.

Discussion and possible motion to approve the Native American Arts and Cultural Traditions Special Grant funding recommendation to award the American Indian Cultural Center (Fiscal Sponsor: Intersection for the Arts) for works of art placed throughout the American Indian Cultural District to honor American Indian culture, history, people, and contributions; and, to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into a grant agreement not to exceed $100,000 at this time.

PLEASE NOTE: The Arts Commission often receives documents created or submitted by other City officials, agencies or departments after the posting of the Arts Commission agenda. Meeting Procedures
1. Agenda items will normally be heard in order. Please note, that on occasion a special circumstance may necessitate that an agenda item be taken out of order. To ensure that an agenda item is not missed, it is advised to arrive at the beginning of the meeting. All agenda changes will be announced by the Chair at the top of the meeting.
2. Public comment will be taken before or during the Committee’s consideration of each agenda item. Each speaker will be allowed to speak for the time allotted by the Chair at the top of the meeting or up to three (3) minutes.
3. During General Public Comment, members of the public may address the Commissioners on matters that are within the Arts Commission’s jurisdiction and are not on the agenda.
4. Any person speaking during a public comment period may supply a brief written summary of their comments, which shall, if no more than 150 words, be included in the official file. Written comments pertaining to this meeting should be submitted to sfac.grants@sfgov.org.
Electronic Devices Prohibited
The ringing of and use of cell phones, pagers, and similar sound-producing electronic devices are prohibited at this meeting, except as necessary to participate remotely. The Chair may order the exclusion from participation of any person responsible for improper disruptions to this remote meeting.
