Informational Presentation [Discussion Only]

California High-Speed Rail Project
-
Members of the California High-Speed Rail Authority presented on the progress of High Speed Rail. At the moment most of the construction is currently taking place in the Central Valley.

Committee members had a number of questions on how this might affect the Bayview Neighborhood. High-Speed Rail Presenter’s let the Committee know that many parts of the plan are still being worked on. Current plans connect high-speed rail to existing Cal-Train rail lines.

Before any construction plans start, presenters will come back to CAC and give an update.

San Francisco Central Shops Relocation Project
-
The offices of Central Shops are working on the large task of moving their currently facilities to two nearby locations. The current site of Central Shops will be used for the PUC’s new Biosolids Digester Facility.

One of the future sites is currently a large warehouse which will be remodeled moderately to fit usage. The second site right off the freeway will be completely constructed from the ground up. The site will be precast and much quicker to build.

Committee members had questions regarding parking during construction. Due to the site the use under passes as parking area and block some street space, but due to its location this project shouldn’t affect business or residential areas surrounding the site.

Currently there are two voting seat open and three non-voting seats. Each the Mayor and City Administrator have opens seats to fill, and work is in process to fill those seats.

DISABILITY ACCESS
Bayview Hunters Point YMCA is on the corner of Lane and Revere (1601 Lane St.) and is wheelchair accessible. The closest MUNI stop is on 3rd St, between Revere and Shafter Ave, 2 blocks away. The nearest MUNI lines are the KT Third St Light Rail and 44-O’Shaughnessy towards Hunters Point. There is accessible street parking around The Library.
City Hall is between Grove and McAllister Streets and is wheelchair accessible. The closest BART and MUNI Metro Station is Civic Center, about three blocks away. Accessible MUNI lines nearest City Hall are: 42 Downtown Loop, 49 Van Ness-Mission and F-Market & MUNI Metro (Civic Center Station). There is accessible parking available in the vicinity of City Hall.
