ORDER OF BUSINESS

1.          Call to Order

2.          Roll Call

3.          Flag salute

4.          Public Comment on matters appearing or not appearing on the agenda which are within the
jurisdiction of the Elections Commission. The Commission will hear public comment on each item on the agenda before consideration of that item.

5.          Discussion and possible action whether to hold Closed Session pursuant to Ralph Brown
Act, section 54956.9 and Sunshine Ordinance section 67.10(d).

CLOSED SESSION
6.          Conference with legal counsel pursuant to Ralph Brown Act section 54956.9 and Sunshine
Ordinance section 67.10 (d); anticipated litigation as plaintiff or defendant in the matter of
Tammy Haygood’s appeal to the Civil Service Commission regarding her termination of
employment. Number of possible cases: 1.

7.          Discussion and possible action re: disclosure of closed session pursuant to Ralph Brown
Act section 54957.1 and Sunshine Ordinance section 67.12.

8.          Discussion and possible action whether to change status of “Acting” Director to “Provisional”
Director for the Department of Elections.

9.          Discussion and possible action to request a supplemental appropriation from the Board of
Supervisors for legal counsel and other legal costs to the Commission in the matter of
Tammy Haygood’s appeal to the Civil Service Commission re: termination of employment.

10.          Report from the Acting Director on anticipated Department expenses/costs not covered by
Annual Appropriation.

11.          Discussion and possible action to request a supplemental appropriation from the Board of
Supervisors for lease of real estate for the Department of Elections and any additional costs presented by the Director that are not covered in the Annual Appropriation.

12.          Discussion and possible action to urge the Mayor, Board and State Legislation Committee to oppose SB1975 (California to conduct three separate elections in a presidential election year).

13.          Public comments on matters appearing or not appearing on the agenda that are
          within the jurisdiction of the Elections Commission.

The Elections Commission meeting will be held in Room 408, City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, CA. The Commission meeting room is wheelchair accessible.
