6.         Secretary’s Report

• Explanation of availability of Annual Reports, Bylaws, Motions, City Attorney Opinions (these are privileged), the 2005 Commission Operations Calendar.

7.         New Business

• Discussion and possible action to approve the minutes for the Commission meeting of January 19, 2005.
• Discussion and possible recommendations regarding the Department of Elections’ draft Budget for fiscal year 2005.
• Discussion and possible action to approve an Election Plan Template.  San Francisco Charter section 13103.5 requires that the Elections Commission approve an Election Plan in advance of each election.  The template would be used by the Department of Elections to prepare the Election Plan for all future elections.

 

• Discussion and possible action to reactivate the Voter Outreach and Participation Committee.

 

(e)       Discussion and possible action to approve the Election Commission Operations Calendar for 2005.

 

(f)        Discussion and possible adoption of resolution approving contract extension with Elections Systems & Software for a term ending January 1, 2007, with the option to further extend the contract for two additional one-year terms, and finding that competitive solicitation of a new voting system vendor at this time is impractical.

 

8.         Discussion regarding items for future agendas.

9.         Public comment on any issue within the Elections Commission’s general jurisdiction.

The Elections Commission meetings are usually held in Room 408, City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, CA. The Commission meeting room is wheelchair accessible. The closest accessible BART station is the Civic Center Station at United Nations Plaza and Market Street.
