1. President Matthews called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. PRESENT: Commissioners Jerdonek, Jung, Rowe, and Safont. EXCUSED DELAY: Commissioner Yu. EXCUSED ABSENCE: Commissioner Ruiz-Healy.ALSO PRESENT AT BEGINNING, but not during interviews: Deputy City Attorney Andrew Shen.

2. Public Employee Appointment/Hiring: Class 1444 - Elections Commission Secretary [Discussion And Possible Action]. Interviews with selected applicants for the Elections Commission Secretary position; deliberations and possible action to make an offer of employment or take other action. 

a. Public comment on all matters pertaining to Agenda Item 2, including any comment regarding the Elections Commission Secretary appointment/hiring or whether to hold the meeting in closed session. NO PUBLIC COMMENT.

b. Moved by Commissioner Rowe to move into closed session for interviews and discussion of appointment/hiring of Commission Secretary; seconded by Commissioner Safont. Voted Yes: Commissioners Jerdonek, Jung, Rowe, Safont, and Matthews. ADOPTED. 

[Commissioner Yu arrived at 6:07 p.m.]

CLOSED SESSION

c. Interviews and deliberations to make an offer of employment or take other action.

d. Moved by Commissioner Jung to move back into open session; seconded by Commissioner Safont. Vote was UNANIMOUS to move back into open session.

OPEN SESSION

e. Report any action taken in closed session as specified in California Government Code §54957.1(a)(5) and San Francisco Administrative Code §67.12(b)(4). The Commission voted to extend a job offer to Debra Hayes, pending a check of her references that proves satisfactory; if Ms. Hayes does not accept the offer or if the reference check raises concerns, then the President is authorized to extend the job offer to Stephanie Lam, pending a check of her references that proves satisfactory; if Ms. Lam does not accept the offer or if the reference check raises concerns, then the President is authorized to extend the job offer to Nadya Hewitt, pending a check of her references that proves satisfactory. Voted Yes: Commissioners Jerdonek, Jung, Safont, Yu, and Matthews. Voted No: Commissioner Rowe. ADOPTED. 

f. Commissioner Rowe moved not to disclose the contents of the closed session; Commissioner Safont seconded. No public comment. Vote was UNANIMOUS to adopt.
