3. San Francisco’s Response to Domestic & Family Violence (DISCUSSION)
- 2011 Comprehensive Report on Family Violence in San Francisco 20 min.
Council Chairs will present key findings and recommendations of the 2011 report
- Domestic Violence Prosecution Rates 20 min.
Invited staff of the District Attorney’s Office will review challenges and opportunities related to San Francisco’s prosecution rates for domestic violence
- Update on JUSTIS and the Domestic Violence Query & Reporting Module 20 min.
The leadership of the JUSTIS Governance Council will present an overview of progress to date
- Report from the SFPD Working Group on Language Access 20 min.
The Working Group will present a summary of activities and findings
- San Francisco Police Department Special Victims Unit (SVU) 20 min.
Chief of Police Gregory P. Suhr: Introduction and Overview
The Police Department will provide an overview of anti-trafficking, child abuse, domestic violence, and elder abuse enforcement activities
4. Public Comment
(The public is now welcome to address the Commission regarding items that do not appear on tonight’s agenda but that are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Commission. Speakers shall address their remarks to the Commission as a whole and not to individual Commissioners or Department or OCC personnel. Under Police Commission Rules of Order, during public comment, neither Police or OCC personnel, nor Commissioners are required to respond to questions presented by the public but, may provide a brief response. Individual Commissioners and Police and OCC personnel should refrain, however, from entering into any debates or discussion with speakers during public comment. Please limit your comments to three (3) minutes.)
