SEPTEMBER 19, 2012 REGULAR MEETING
The Police Commission of the City and County of San Francisco met in Room 400, City Hall, #1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, at 5:45 p.m.
PRESENT: Commissioners Mazzucco, Marshall, Chan, Kingsley, Turman, Loftus
ABSENT: Commissioner DeJesus
(Commissioner Loftus arrived at 6:15 p.m. Commissioner Marshall arrived at 7:05 p.m.)
PUBLIC COMMENT
Ray Hartz spoke in regards to violation of the Sunshine laws.
Unidentified discussed CIT training and the issue of tasers.
REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
a. Chief’s Report
- Review of recent activities
- Update on timeline of OCC Policy Recommendations regarding DGO 5.05, "Response and Pursuit Driving," DGO 5.01, "Use of Force," and DGO 5.20, "Language Access Services for LEP Persons"
Chief Suhr updated the Commission on recent homicide of an 18 year old and the arrest made on this case and also a homicide in the Mission. The Chief also talked about recent Occupy demonstration and recent crime statistics.
Captain McEachern, Risk Management Division, updated the Commission regarding DGOs 5.01, "Use of Force," and 5.05, "Response and Pursuit Driving."
Sergeant Paul Yep presented the update on DGO 5.20 and introduced Officer Eric Chang as the new liaison for Language Access.
Ms. Samara Marion, OCC, spoke in regards to DGOs 5.05, 5.01, and 5.20.
Ms. Beverly Upton spoke in regards to the LEP policy and updated the Commission regarding meetings with the Domestic Violence community and the SFPD.

Commissioner Chan announced the meetings in regards to electronic control weapons.

Commissioner Chan asked that DGOs 5.05 be presented to the Commission on November 7
th,and 5.01 be calendared for November 14th.

Ray Hartz spoke in regards to public records access.

Ray Hartz discussed concerns regarding going into closed session.
Mike, Occupy movement, discussed concerns about the city working with the Occupy movement.
